From The Bancroft Community Garden
Our hives are located in the Bancroft Community Garden, just to the right of Bancroft Elementary School on your way down into Rock Creek Park.Founded in collaboration with the school, Rock Creek Honey creates a window into the curious world of honey bees — how they grow, reproduce, forage, and support the gardens and plants that make our neighborhood bloom.
2025 Honey Harvest
2025 was a banner year. The hives produced an average of 250+ pounds each, with one topping nearly 400 pounds – more than 10× the D.C. average!We had three harvests this year – May, June, and August—each with its own unique color, texture and flavor profile.
